RIVER SPIRIT RETREAT
• Vision Statement:
River Spirit Retreat is a secluded retreat center
located on 117 acres, nestled in the Ozark Mountains on the Little Buffalo River,
near Parthenon in west central Newton County, Arkansas.
River Spirit Retreat was created to provide a safe, private, and
supportive haven for individual retreat, small group and family gatherings and conferences.
We encourage time out to rest deeply and wander aimlessly in the midst of
a hurried and hectic world. In a society that has become overcrowded and
overcivilized, we seek balance by offering an experience of wilderness.
We provide a warm and relaxed environment, beautiful and comfortable
accommodations and the opportunity for our guests to experience the
mystery, healing and restorative powers of nature.
In seeking wholeness, we honor all of the worlds wisdom traditions · Many Paths · One Mountain · We seek to honor diversity in wildlife and human life. We seek to create a safe environment for people from many walks of life to find peace and renewal on these grounds. |

We offer refuge from the stress and distraction of everyday living for contemplation, meditation, and the transformational process.
We welcome guests to come for creative work and educational opportunities and for play, ritual and celebration. We believe that personal health and
well-being and planetary health are interdependent.
Within all that we do at River Spirit is the desire to protect one of Nature’s
sacred places. We show our desire by leaving much of the land untouched and
by building our structures and programs with a respect and sensitivity for our
impact on the environment.. We seek to share the profound
interrelatedness of all Life and the core insights that come from connecting deeply
with the Earth. Through all that we have to offer, we hope to inspire love and
action for the sustainability of our World.
River Spirit was founded by Ann Lasater and is currently individually owned
and operated with the support and services of the people of the neighboring
community and with the help of long term work exchange residents.
We are currently considering the possibility of expanding to include other
partners or investors who share a similar vision of living and service. We
are also considering the possibility of non-profit status. Ann invites anyone
who is seriously interested to explore becoming involved.
